The role of optical assistant in our organisation is full of variety and is ever changing. It involves a range of technical, clinical, administrative and sales tasks. Some of these include booking appointments, ordering glasses and contact lenses, selling frames, processing payments using a sage accounting system and handling patient queries in a variety of ways. The role requires a level of personal accountability, responsibility and competence which is why we offer continual training throughout the year. This also allows team members to develop their personal skills and remained engaged with the variety of tasks.
